Licensed in Virginia and the District of Columbia, Karen joined the staff of Hayes & Schneider Properties as contracts manager in 1998, and has since been promoted to office manager. Karen says, "Working with Mitchell and Susan and helping their clients successfully navigate the home-buying process has been personally rewarding and gratifying."

Born in Newport, Rhode Island and daughter of a Naval officer, Karen spent her first nine years traveling the eastern seaboard and South America, which fueled her love of travel. Her parents settled in Arlington in the early 1960s, and Karen has remained in the area, raising her own children here as well.

In addition to working with clients, Karen enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, reading, and most recently, renovating a 19th-century farmhouse in West Virginia.
